Robot Palletizer Moves Complete Layers - Columbia Machine - Brief Article - Statistical Data Included

Food & Drug Packaging, Sept, 2001

To gain speed without sacrificing flexibility in stacking lightweight products, this palletizing solution combines the efficiency of a robot with proven row- and layer-forming technology. Cases or bundles are formed into rows and layers at floor-level. The robot then transfers an entire layer at a time to the pallet at speeds of up to 50 cases/bundles per minute in a 13-case pattern. A unique tooling design also allows the robot to place tie sheets between layers if necessary. The robot's maximum payload is 100 pounds at 9-10 cycles per minute.
