Hardware Enterprises signs with Ace Hardware

Hardware Enterprises, a Mexican wholesale hardware company that also owns a growing chain of 36 retail hardware stores, signed up with Ace Hardware during the last week of April, said Ruben Zaga, a Hardware Enterprises executive.
As part of the deal, Hardware Enterprises will receive Ace shipments at its Mexico City, distribution warehouse and then repackage the goods and send them to its 36 Practico Home Center stores. Practico stores average about 3,800 sq are feet and offer 15,000 to 20,000 skus. For 1998, Practico's first full year in operation, it reported sales of 108 million pesetas, or roughly $11 million.
