Makita, of La Mirada, Calif., introduces its new 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Hammer Driver-Drill Kit, model BHP454. The Makita-built 4-pole maximum torque motor delivers 560 in. lbs. of efficient torque, and the two-speed design offers plenty of speed (0-400/0-1,700 RPM) and blows-per-minute (0-6,000/0-25,500). It comes with a Shift-Lock drive system that quickly shifts between three modes: "hammer drill," "driver" and "drill."
