The May 22 issue's Retailer Scoreboard included inaccurate information about Frank's Nursery & Crafts. The lawn and garden specialty dealer generated $487.3 million in 1999 from 257 stores. That represented a 4.8 percent decline from 1998 sales. The chart of the 50 leading nursery dealers appearing in this issue includes accurate data on Frank's.
In that same issue, NHCN reported that the specialty dealer Home Valu generated $77 million in 1999 sales. The company subsequently updated and corrected its sales, stating that revenue for the year ended Aug. 31 hit $84.5 million, vs. $74.5 million for fiscal 1998. Home Valu sells kitchens, baths, wallpaper and window treatments.
