Sterling Commerce expands Internet e-commerce solutions to new global markets

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Sterling Commerce, a provider of Internet e-commerce solutions, announced two joint ventures with information technology partners in Greece and Brazil.

One joint venture creates a new company called FORTHe-com, which will build, manage and service business communities in the Balkans.

In addition, Sterling Commerce is expanding its relationship with ParaRede Tecnologias de la Communicacion, S.A., a Sterling distributor in Portugal and Spain for the past two years. Through the new relationship, ParaRede will focus initially on providing solutions to build, manage and service the commerce needs of the rapidly growing telecommunications and manufacturing markets in Brazil.
