Home Depot alters Expo expansion - Expo Design Centers - Brief Article
Home Channel News, Sept 17, 2001
The retailer now plans to limit the expansion of its Expo Design Centers division to the 100 largest metro markets in North America. Robert Nardelli, Home Depot's president and CEO, explained that his company now believes Expo -- which was scheduled to expand to 44 units this year -- may not require the same "saturation" strategy that Home Depot's warehouse home centers required, primarily because the Expos draw customers from a wider market than the home centers.
Previously, Home Depot spoke of opening 200 Expos by 2005. (8/13)
