Burpee closes its stores - Brief Article

Burpee Seed recently closed its three retail outlets. The stores, which sold garden furniture, giftware and other high-end merchandise along with Burpee products, were located in Warringron, Pa.; Medford, N.J.; and Downers Grove, Ill. One of the nations leading seed suppliers, Burpee claimed that it used the stores for consumer research.
But large retailers that purchase seeds from Burpee reportedly were disgruntled over the supplier's retail activities.
