Rabbit stops running

Home Channel News, Nov 9, 1998

In a 30-second television commercial that first aired Oct. 15, a pit crew intercepts the pink Energizer bunny on a desert road, marking the first time that the bunny has stopped 'going" since its 1989 introduction. The TV spot shows the pit crew replacing the bunny's batteries with the new Energizer advanced formula batteries, which hit store shelves in August.

The new batteries, according to Eveready, last longer in high-drain devices. Eveready is shelling out $150 million for the worldwide launch of the advanced formula batteries.
