Home Depot's home decor and design showroom plans to operate between 35 and 40 stores in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut by 2004. The division plans eight stores in the tri-state area in the next two years including stores in Smithtown and New Rochelle, N.Y, and Bridgewater and Paramus, N.J. An Expo opened in Union, N.J., in August.
