St. Bruno, Quebec-based hardlines distributor reported that earnings for the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 55.3 percent to 2.802 million Canadian dollars (US$1.89 million). Revenue, though, fell 11.8 percent to C$100.26 million. Through nine months, the distributor's sales were up, albeit by only 0.72 percent, to C$321.4 million, but earnings jumped nearly 70 percent to C$8.71 million.

Tony Molluso, Sodisco-Howden president and CEO, stated that by developing "a more selective product mix," his company has been able to focus on products and services "that generate a higher profit margin."
