Beaulieu acquires distributor

Carpet manufacturer Beaulieu of America completed its acquisition of LD Brinkman, the largest floor covering distributor in the country, with 1999 sales exceeding $400 million. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition makes Beaulieu a player in the hard surfaces business -- LD Brinkman's offering includes laminates, ceramic tile, wood and resilients.
