HFN names retail 'visionaries' - Brief Article

The New York-based magazine, Home Furnishings News, named ABC Carper & Home owners Jerry Weinrib, Evan Cole and Paulette Cole and others in its first "Visionaries" issue saluting pioneers and innovators. Gordon and Carole Segal, the creators of Crate & Barrel; Eugene Kalkin, who began Linens 'n Things; Bed Bath & Beyond creators Warren Eisenberg and Leonard Feinstein; and Rose Blumkin, proprietor of the Nebraska Furniture Mart were selected as leading entrepreneurs.
Also named to the list were Ben Thompson of Design Research; R.B. Levitz; Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad; Chuck Williams of Williams-Sonoma; designer Ralph Lauren; Home Depot co-founders Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank; Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton; and Kmart founder Harry Cunningham.
