Monrovia gets bigger. Monrovia Nursery became Monrovia Growers in January when it merged with Wight Nurseries of Cairo, Ga., and La Grange, N.C. The merger establishes a Southern presence for Monrovia, which operates growing operations in California and Oregon. In 1995, Wight acquired Berryhill Nursery of Springfield, Ohio.
According to Monrovia, the three nurseries will be expanded to combine sales and marketing functions at its Azusa, Calif., headquarters.
