Home Depot reveals store opening plans for the new millennium

Home Depot has set a goal of operating 1,600 stores by 2002 and plans to open 200 of these stores in fiscal 2000. Store building costs will average $12.9 million per location; the cost to remodel stores to be leased will average approximately $3.2 million per location.
