Amazon enters lawn and garden arena

On April 5, Seattle-based e-tailer Amazon.com launched a lawn and patio store, offering more than 50 brands of outdoor living and garden products. The store is divided into 13 categories including birds and wildlife, outdoor cooking, ponds and structures, seeds and fertilizer and weed and pest control.

Amazon's more than 17 million customers can now purchase barbecue grills, patio furniture, lawn mowers, gardening tools and other outdoor products with popular brands like Fiskars, Miracle-Gro, Rain Bird, Weber and Weed Eater.Amazon is charging a flat shipping rate of $4.95 per order, regardless of size and weight.
