MIYAZAKI, Japan, Oct. 18 Kyodo

Forty-six members of a tour group that returned from Uzbekistan on Monday were treated for suspected food poisoning but none were in serious condition, health officials in Miyazaki Prefecture said Wednesday.

The officials said the affected tourists, comprising 17 males and 29 females, were among 149 people who took part in a six-day tour of Uzbekistan from Oct. 11 to Monday.

The 46 developed food-poisoning symptoms such as fever and diarrhea during and after the tour, and eight of them were briefly treated in hospital, they said.
