Japan has agreed to provide Nepal $425,000 under its cultural grant scheme for the display of material at the country's national museum, the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said Friday.
Ambassador Mitsusaki Kojima and Nepalese Finance Secretary Bimal Koirala signed and exchanged notes on the grant.
The Japanese envoy said that with more display facilities the museum would ensure better preservation of Nepalese historical objects and culture, while presenting them to the general public in a proper way.
This is the third cultural grant provided to Nepal by Japan for procurement of exhibition equipment at the Kathmandu-based national museum.
