With the latest ''mad cow disease'' scare, Malaysia has imposed an immediate ban on the import of all beef and beef products and feed containing beef from European Union countries, the New Straits Times reported Friday.

The government also directed that all the products now being sold to be withdrawn immediately.

''The imposition of the ban followed advice from the World Health Organization to all countries to initiate immediate measures to curb the spread of the mad cow disease,'' Health Minister Chua Jui Meng was quoted saying.
