Hair dryer short circuit kills 9 in beauty salon blaze

A hair dryer short circuit sparked a beauty salon fire that killed nine and injured 13 in southern China's Guangdong Province, the official Xinhua News Agency quoted a joint police-firefighter report as saying.
Four people were burned to death and five died after jumping from a fifth floor during the June 24 fire, which gutted the Xiaobaile Beauty Salon in Lianjiang city within 40 minutes, the report said.
The owner of the salon was killed in the blaze.
