Russian foreign minister to visit S., N. Korea from July 26

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will visit North Korea after his three-day visit to South Korea scheduled to begin on July 26, a South Korean Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry official said Tuesday.
Ivanov's upcoming visit to North Korea follows his previous trip to the North made in February 2000.
During his stay in South Korea, Ivanov will hold talks with South Korean Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Choi Sung Hong on a broad range of topics, including the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula.
Ivanov is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Kim Dae Jung and to attend the opening ceremony of the new Russian Embassy building on July 27.

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that Ivanov will stay in Pyongyang for two days from July 28 and then fly to Brunei to attend the ministerial talks of the ASEAN Regional Forum, an Asia-Pacific security forum, slated for July 30-Aug. 1.
