DR. MAURICE APPREY has been named dean of the Office of African-American Affairs at the University of Virginia. He had been serving in an interim role. Apprey earned a bachelor's from the College of Emporia, a doctorate from the Saybrook Institute and Research Center in Germany and a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
