Dr. Ronald L. Carter has been appointed president of Johnson C. Smith University (N.C.) effective July 1. Currently, he is provost and dean of faculty at Coker College (S.C.). He earned a bachelor's from Morehouse College and a master's and doctorate from Boston University.
