THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE has received $65 MILLION from the National Science Foundation to put together the state-of-the-art Kraken supercomputer. The supercomputer will be built at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and will bolster the computational power of the TeraGrid, the world's most powerful and comprehensive cyberinfrastructure for open scientific research.
