Software Leaders Unite for Advanced Circuitry Design Tool
Comline Computers, August 10, 1999
IK Technology (tel: 03-3839-0606), a subsidiary of Inabata & Co. , will combine its expertise in circuit design software with Omron Software's (tel: 075-352-7400) programming in a recently formed technical partnership. The two sides will collaborate to develop Java-based advanced circuit design software and get it to market by 2002. Their proposed product would allow simultaneous development of hardware and software. Although such software is not currently available, the industry foresees a market for it reaching more than 10 billion yen in Japan in 2004. The partners hope to grab a 30% share that year. They claim that the new software will reduce development time from a year or more to about six months.
