Hamamatsu Photonics Completes Development of Automated Digital Camera Control System

Comline Computers, March 30, 1999

Hamamatsu Photonics <6965>, a research and development oriented company with advanced optics as its base technology, has completed development on its "Aqua Cosmos," which is an automated control software product for a microscope system employed in advanced digital cameras used in biological research, among other scientific fields. The new software is expected to replace much of the tedious handwork that had to go into such processes in the past. The company is to begin sales of the software on April 1. The software functions to control such digital systems, including digital cameras, microscopes and other peripheral equipment, and also to process and analyze images derived from such systems. The software is to be priced at 1.0 million yen, a price that includes camera-driver software. The company is aiming for first-year sales of 100 units.
