Executive Suite: StorageTek Appoints Roger D. Archibald Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise DASD Business Group

StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp., Thursday announced that Roger D. Archibald has been named vice president and general manager of the Enterprise DASD Business Group. He had been group marketing manager, Information Storage, at Hewlett-Packard Company.

Positions held during his 22-year career at HP have included product marketing manager for office printers; marketing manager for the Peripherals Group, Europe, Middle East, and Africa; marketing manager, network server division; and acquisition and integration manager.

Archibald played a key role in the development and introduction of the HP Laserjet printer in 1984 and subsequently assumed worldwide marketing responsibility for HP's line of office printers.

He later led the marketing function for all peripheral devices in HP's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

His most recent responsibility encompasses worldwide marketing for HP's storage products including disk, optical, tape and automated libraries.

Archibald holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University. He earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from Boise State University.

Archibald will report to Victor M. Perez, executive vice president, Enterprise Operations.
