Executive Suite: StorageTek Appoints Jeffrey M. Dumas Corporate Vice President and General Counsel

StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp.,) has announced that Jeffrey M. Dumas, 52, has been appointed corporate vice president and general counsel.

He had been vice president and general counsel for Symbios Inc., an independent subsidiary of Hyundai Electronics America, with headquarters in Fort Collins, Colo.

With more than 20 years of legal experience in the high-tech arena, he has been general counsel at Britton-Lee, Inc. and Cypress Semiconductor Corp., and was associate general counsel at MIPS Computer Systems Inc. In addition, he has been part of the legal staff at Boeing Co., Silicon Graphics Inc. and National Semiconductor Corp.

Dumas was assistant professor of electrical engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy and taught intellectual property law at the University of California at Berkeley. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He is a registered professional engineer in three states. He earned his law degree at Harvard University Law School, is a member of the bar in four states and a registered patent attorney.

Dumas will report to David E. Weiss, StorageTek chairman, president and chief executive officer.
