Workstation Price Cuts: Compaq Drops Prices on Professional Workstations; Workstations and Processor Options Reduced By Up to 28 Percent

Compaq Computer Corporation, a leading provider of Windows NT-based workstations, Monday announced reduced prices in the U.S. on its Professional Workstation products as well as lower prices on processor options. The reductions include a drop in pricing by as much as 28 percent on the Professional Workstation 5100, 20 percent on the Professional Workstation 6000 and 27 percent on dual-processing upgrade options.

With this reduced pricing, Compaq customers can acquire the unmatched workstation performance delivered by Compaq's innovative Highly Parallel System Architecture starting at only $2,189. In addition, customers can now upgrade their workstation to take advantage of dual processors for as little as $795.
