Boffin's new product line leverages the latest hardware and software technologies in order to deliver plug-and-play simplicity and long-term reliability. KwikDISC reduces valuable time spent storing and retrieving important information. KwikDISC can cache CDs to the hard drive at rates of up to 1MB per second - caching a completely full CD (650MB) in 11 minutes. Except for increased speed, users will see no difference between CDs cached on KwikDISC and CDs in a network attached drive. "This new family of servers is a result of the growing number of businesses requiring network attachable products to meet increasing demands in mass storage," said Max Caston, Vice President, Boffin Limited. "Our expertise is with CD-ROM mass storage systems so it makes sense to offer our customers this new family of products. The reality is that customers want simple-to-use, plug-and-play, network attachable products and we're the experts of network attachable storage meeting their demands." KwikDISC features built-in thin server software technology allowing users to avoid the hassles normally associated with setting up additional hard drives; easy installation and set up through any standard Web browser ensures that customers can quickly be up and running with the unit in five minutes. Because it is platform independent, KwikDISC can be accessed by a variety of clients, including Novell NetWare, OS/2, Windows or Unix. KwikDISC also incorporates password and user level security. KwikDISC is the newest in the family of network attachable storage products announced by Boffin Limited. On July 13, Boffin introduced KwikStor, a self-contained unit that utilizes thin file server technology and allows direct network attached access of up to 100GB of read and write-capable storage. All Boffin products come with a one-year warranty and free unlimited e-mail technical support. Starting at $1,995 for a 9GB unit, KwikDISC is a cost effective mass storage solution for any business. Capacity can be increased up to 108GB - enough room for over 170 CDs worth of data. Established in 1984, Boffin Limited provides a wide selection of award-winning network ready hardware and software products that feature the most advanced technology available. Recognized around the world as a leader in CD-ROM networking technologies such as towers, servers, and jukeboxes, Boffin Limited also offers a complete product line of network ready solutions which include: CloneMaster CD duplication units, KwikStor Network Attachable Storage devices, RAID storage, and DVD technology.
