Executive Suite: EMC Names Robert Heise Vice President, Chief Information Officer. Industry Veteran To Lead EMC Global Information Systems Function - Company Operations

EMC Corporation, the world's leading provider of enterprise storage and software solutions, Wednesday announced the appointment of Robert Heise as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Heise, 55, is responsible for EMC's worldwide information systems (IS) infrastructure, including systems development, operations, telecommunications, IS procurement, enterprise storage and facility requirements. Heise reports to Colin Patteson, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Prior to joining EMC, Heise was Senior Vice President and CIO at Chicago-based Fruit of the Loom, Inc. He previously served as CIO at Richmond, Virginia-based Richfood Holdings, Inc. and also held senior-level IS positions at Black & Decker Corporation, Sprague Technologies, Inc. and PepsiCo. Heise is a graduate of North Adams State College in Massachusetts and has been involved in corporate information systems since 1965.
