Micron Electronics, Inc., the third largest direct computer systems company, Monday announced that Stephen Brown and Cory Devor have joined its executive team. Stephen Brown has been appointed as vice president and chief information officer, reporting directly to chairman and chief executive officer Joel Kocher. Cory Devor has been appointed as area vice president of server product development, reporting to Dean Klein, executive vice president and chief technology officer.
"With the recently introduced corporate growth strategy and corresponding marketing initiatives, it is imperative that we build a world-class executive structure as we enter our growth phase," Kocher said. "Brown and Devor each bring expertise to the team, ultimately assisting in our overall efforts to grow in the extremely competitive computer industry."

About Stephen Brown Instrumental in the success of several industry-leading services, Brown most recently served as chief information officer of Imation, a Fortune 500 company and the world's leading imaging and data storage company. During his tenure at Imation, Brown provided direct technical leadership to each business unit as well as the company's CEO and board of directors. Brown also worked as an executive consultant to Diversified Information Technologies, Inc., and in various information technology capacities at Pillsbury and General Electric.
Brown holds a master's degree in management information systems from the Naval Post Graduate School and a bachelor's in business marketing from Texas Tech University.
About Cory Devor Devor most recently served in various executive management positions, including senior vice president of server products at Tricord System, Inc. During his tenure at Tricord, Devor spearheaded next generation server efforts, including responsibility for sales, marketing and engineering. Devor previously worked as an executive with Honeywell and Groupe Bull as a research scientist and founder of their systems integration division, Integris.
Devor holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, a master's degree in computer science from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
