Iomega Corporation announced Tuesday the appointment of Germaine Ward as vice president of software solutions.
In her new capacity, Ward will oversee software development activity and software marketing.
"This appointment recognizes that software applications are a key ingredient to providing solutions for our customers," said David J. Dunn, Chairman and CEO, Iomega Corporation. Ward came to Iomega as the director of software product management in April of 1998. Since then she has overseen several of Iomega's software projects including:
* Iomega's Y2K Software Suite which includes a user-friendly, informative step-by-step instruction guide that takes users through a program to help them back-up, update and protect their computers from potential Y2K problems
* IomegaWare software, a comprehensive set of tools, drivers and value-added software that helps users save and protect data.
IomegaWare software includes:
* Quik Sync software, which allows you to automatically backup to a Zip, Jaz or Clik! drive. Whenever you save to a designated folder or the hard drive, Quik Sync backs up your files to an Iomega disk without interrupting your work.
* RecordItsoftware, which allows you to record audio tracks to a Zip disk and take those recordings anywhere you go.
* Norton Zip Rescue (NZR) software, the ultimate tool for restoring Windows 95/98 on your system.
* Digital Download software, jointly developed with Liquid Audio to allow users to securely download music from the Internet onto Iomega media.
Prior to joining Iomega, Ward was with Symantec for seven years where she held positions as director of product management and as general manager for the AntiVirus Business Unit. She also has worked for Siemens Energy Automation, Rockwell International and Softview in positions of product management and software development.
