Edge: Work-Group Computing Report, Dec 13, 1999

Interactive Media Corporation (IMC), a leader in removable and portable storage devices, is once again reshaping the landscape of the storage industry with the release of its 40GB KanguruDisk, personal removable hard drive.

The KanguruDisk

The 40GB KanguruDisk offers an unprecedented capacity in a truly plug and play format. It is as easy to use as a floppy diskette while providing the power and performance of a 66.6MB/sec., Ultra DMA, EIDE hard drive. This newly released KanguruDisk rounds out a full line of removable hard drives with starting capacities at 4.3GB. The KanguruDisk line of hard drives is well entrenched as the largest and highest performance removable IDE hard drives on the market today.

The KanguruDisk provides a myriad of benefits including portability, security, and flexibility. KanguruDisks are used in conjunction with either the Internal KanguruDock, which provides direct connection to a user's internal IDE controllers or with the KanguruAdapter, which enables users to connect a KanguruDisk externally to a Parallel, PCMCIA, USB, or FireWire connection (Fire Wire connection available in January, 2000). The KanguruDisk is excellent for backing up data or just transporting files, its compact size and rugged design weighs only 1 pound and can withstand up to 200Gs of shock! It is both PC and Mac compatible and so powerful that it can even be used as the booting drive.

The unparalleled capacity and premier performance coupled with the universal connectivity provided by the KanguruDock and KanguruAdapter make the KanguruDisk an unbeatable choice for removable and portable storage.

Pricing and Availability

The 40GB KanguruDisk, KanguruDock, and KanguruAdapter are all sold nationwide through leading computer retail stores such as Micro Center, as well as VARs like Westwood Computers, Force 3, Government Technology Services, and various other resellers like Tiger Direct, PC Connection, and MicroWarehouse.
