Silicon Valley Research Delivers Linux System to Customers - Linux version of Silicon Valley Research Inc QICAPR design software - Product Announcement

Edge: Work-Group Computing Report, Dec 27, 1999

Silicon Valley Research, Inc. announced Tuesday that the company has delivered the Linux version of its QICAPR software application to a hot Silicon Valley semiconductor start-up: Innovision Labs. The full production version of Silicon Valley Research's software took place less than two weeks from the announcement of SVR's entry into the Linux market.

"We are excited to have our software being used on such a demanding project as Innovisions' next-generation, System-on-a-Chip product," stated James Benouis, President and CEO of SVR. "Innovision represents the first of many new customer for SVR's innovative new design software."

Innovision Labs, Inc. designs and sells high-speed, mixed-signal semiconductors used in the next-generation, analog and digital televisions. The company's products will dramatically change the video picture quality and bring advanced new features to the consumer-priced television. The company recently completed a $7 million Series B financing from several highly respected Silicon Valley-based venture-capital firms.

"We have a challenging deep sub-micron design, requiring timing-driven layout and a very complex multiple clock tree synthesis. Our mixed-signal design combines digital signal processing, complex digital logic and high-speed analogs - all on the same chip. A very difficult set of requirements for a design tool to handle." said David Medin, CEO and CTO of Innovision Labs.

Founded in 1979, Silicon Valley Research, Inc. develops, markets and supports innovative IC physical design software for floorplanning, placement, routing, custom layout and parasitic extraction of deep submicron Integrated Circuits (ICs). SVR also provides design consulting services and support to its customers. The advanced technology in SVR's production-proven tools results in dense, high yielding, high performance chips. Headquartered in San Jose, California, SVR has sales offices in the United States and Asia. FMI: http://www.svri.com.
