Executive Suite: Former Oracle Executive, William Seagrave, Joins D2K, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer; Seagrave's Expertise With Enterprise Applications to Speed D2K's Expansion in the ERP Data Warehouse Market - Company Operations

Edge: Work-Group Computing Report, Jan 25, 1999

D2K Incorporated, a premier data warehouse vendor specializing in data extraction, transformation, and loading, Wednesday announced the appointment of William Seagrave as Chief Executive Officer. Seagrave, with over 20 years experience working for industry leaders including Intel and Oracle Corporation, will lead D2K's charge into the emerging ERP data warehouse market.

At Oracle Corporation, Seagrave was a key contributor in building the company's applications business from a concept stage to over $1.8 Billion in annual revenues. Most recently he held the position of Vice President of Application Sales. He also managed programs in development, consulting, marketing, and channels. For D2K, Seagrave's leadership experience in databases and enterprise application software is ideal. According to Seagrave, "D2K is uniquely positioned for success in delivering data warehouse solutions in conjunction with large scale ERP implementations. The company's product, vision, and market position are outstanding." Seagrave's primary objectives will be to further extend D2K's commitment of customer satisfaction, implement internal procedures to prepare the company for rapid acceleration of growth, and unfold a new strategic vision to ensure D2K's long-term success. "Seagrave is a proven leader in managing internal company operations and building successful organizations. Additionally, his vision and existing business relationships will be of tremendous value in fostering tightly integrated programs with key partners in this marketplace," stated Stan Meresman, D2K board member. Seagrave began his high-tech career in 1979 with Intel. He then spent time in the biotechnology industry where he held the position of CFO for Intek Diagnostics and Principal for MMS Consulting. He joined Oracle in 1989 as the Product Director for manufacturing applications. Many of the architecture constructs developed by Seagrave are still the foundation for today's Oracle Applications. Seagrave is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Production Inventory Control Manager. One of the many challenges in his last appointment was to integrate Oracle's applications with solutions in the business intelligence market. "One of the many things learned is the vast market need for stronger information sharing in conjunction with ERP and other information management systems," said Seagrave. "The prevalent issue is that the benefits associated with business intelligence are severely limited by the inability to manage information from disparate systems. D2K's ability to automate the extraction of this information into a common reporting environment is phenomenal. Going forward, data warehouses will continue to be strategic assets for companies and D2K will be at the heart of their success." D2K, Inc. (Data to Knowledge) delivers enterprise-wide data warehouse solutions for ERP environments. The company's charter is to help corporations build a comprehensive information framework, scalable to their requirements, enabling knowledge collaboration within and between work groups. D2K's flagship product, Tapestry, automates the extraction, transformation, and loading of SAP, PeopleSoft, mainframe, and relational data into a data warehouse or data mart. D2K is headquartered in San Jose, California. Sales offices are located throughout the U.S. and in Singapore. The company's World Wide Web address is http://www.d2k.com.
