Micron Electronics, Inc., a leading direct vendor of personal computer systems, Tuesday announced that it has begun shipping its Millennia and ClientPro desktop product lines with Intel's new Celeron processor running at 433 MHz.
Micron is offering the newest Celeron processor on its flagship Millennia desktop product line for consumers and small businesses. Pricing begins at $1,349 and includes Intel's 433MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM, 8.4GB ATA-33 hard drive, 40X (40X max., 17X min.) CD-ROM, 17" (15.9" viewable display) 700 CX monitor, 8MB nVidia Riva 128 graphics, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition and a 3Com/US Robotics X2 V.90 winmodem.

Micron is also offering the newest Celeron processor on its ClientPro business desktop computers. Pricing begins at $1,499 and includes Intel's 433MHz processor, 128K integrated L2 cache, 64MB 100 MHz SDRAM, 4.3GB ATA-33 hard drive, 3Com 10/100 Wake-On-LAN network interface card, 40X (40X max., 17X min.) CD-Rom, 17" (15.9" viewable display) 700 CX monitor, Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and a 56K 3Com/US Robotics, X2/V.90 data/fax modem.
"These Celeron processor-based systems are engineered to provide cost savings to our customers while maintaining the power and performance customers have come to expect from Micron's desktop product families," said Jeffrey K. Moeser, Micron's vice president of development and engineering for desktop systems. "In addition, these new systems include programs and services available only to Micron customers, including Micron University and MPower."
Customers who purchase a new Micron desktop system also receive the benefits of Micron's technology-enhancing programs and services, which are not available from any other vendor. Every customer who purchases a new Micron system receives a free one-year enrollment in Micron University, an online training resource that can help customers make the most out of their computer investment. In addition, Micron makes the purchase of a new computer easier with its MPower program, which includes flexible financing, trade-in of older computers, and environmentally safe computer recycling.
