The Computer Systems Division (CSD) of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (TAIS) today broadened its line of value-priced notebook PCs with the introduction of the Satellite 4060CDT. Featuring an Intel 333MHz Pentium II processor and a brilliant 13.3-inch active-matrix display for $2,699, the Satellite 4060CDT is ideal for small- to medium-sized businesses and corporations purchasing notebooks on a project basis.

Toshiba's Satellite series provides the most comprehensive range of value-priced notebooks in the industry. The Satellite 4060CDT joins the existing Satellite 4030CDT and 4080XCDT offering customers high-performance solutions for today's demanding computing requirements such as large databases and multimedia presentations. The Satellite 4060CDT also complements the Satellite 2500 series providing individual customers such as students and home office users affordable notebooks designed to support mainstream applications priced from $1,399 to $1,899 (see today's Satellite 2540/2545 announcement).

Building on the success of the Satellite 4000 series, the Satellite 4060CDT offers a sleek and integrated design combining a fast 24X max CD-ROM drive, large 4.3 billion byte hard drive and floppy drive. It packs a powerful Intel 333MHz Pentium II processor, 64MB of synchronous RAM (expandable to 192MB) and an integrated 56K ITU V.90 modem capable of handling the most demanding software and communication requirements.
The expansive 13.3-inch active matrix display with enhanced 3-D sound system and stereo bass reflex speakers make the Satellite 4060CDT ideal for multimedia applications. It features two Type II or one Type III CardBus ready PC Card slots, one USB port, one Fast Infrared port and includes Microsoft's Windows 98.
For one-touch connection to printers, monitors and keyboards, the Satellite 4060CDT offers port replication compatibility with Toshiba's new affordably-priced Satellite Port Replicator and existing NoteDock III port replicator (adapter required). Adding value to customers' current expansion options, Toshiba continues to provide the industry's most consistent docking stations and port replicators. Configuration Builder CD Makes Reloading Software Quick and Easy
Toshiba makes selecting and reloading software simpler, less time-consuming and more cost-effective than traditional methods. Unique to the industry, Toshiba's Configuration Builder CD is delivered with each Satellite 4060CDT system, giving customers a fully integrated software image that can be easily reconfigured to their exact requirements. Using the Configuration Builder CD, IT departments, small businesses and individuals can create specific software images in less than one hour from Toshiba software utilities and drivers, dramatically reducing software restore costs and activities. Flexible Financing, Service and Support Programs
Toshiba offers flexible financing and leasing programs, as well as comprehensive service and support and warranty programs to enhance customers' computing experience. The Satellite 4060CDT comes standard with a one-year parts and labor warranty, and is backed by Toshiba's service and support, available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week through Toshiba's InTouchSM Center. The Satellite 4060CDT is also covered by Toshiba's Notebook Depot repair program that allows for a notebook to be shipped to a depot, repaired and returned anywhere in the United States.
