Gateway has introduced three new consumer desktop product lines targeted at specific segments of the PC market, offering expanded client choice and personalization. Gateway Performance, Gateway Essential, and Gateway Select desktops will replace the award-winning G-Series desktop product line and are available immediately in the U.S.

Gateway Performance Gateway Performance is Gateway's signature desktop line of PCs that delivers the latest technology and highest performance. The line recognizes the needs and desires of core enthusiasts and clients who want top-of-the-line performance and includes a wide range of component choices from some of the top manufacturers in the industry. It includes the Gateway Essential 400c, including an Intel Celeron 400MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM, 8.4GB UATA hard drive, integrated audio and 8MB video, EV700 17" (15.9" viewable) monitor, 13x/32x CD-ROM drive, 2-piece speaker system, data/fax modem, Microsoft Windows 98 and Corel Word Perfect Suite 8, and one year2 of Internet access through gateway.net for $1299.
Gateway Select Designed to provide clients with alternatives and the power of choice, Gateway Select systems offer a perfect balance of feature set and price. This product line includes the Gateway Select 366, which features an AMDTM K6-2 366MHz processor, 32MB SDRAM, 4.3 GB UATA hard drive, integrated audio and 8MB video, EV500 15" (13.9" viewable) monitor, 13x/32x CD-ROM drive, 2-piece speaker system, data/fax modem, Microsoft Windows 98 and Corel Word Perfect Suite 8 for $899.
