Gateway has introduced three new consumer desktop product lines targeted at specific segments of the PC market, offering expanded client choice and personalization. Gateway Performance, Gateway Essential, and Gateway Select desktops will replace the award-winning G-Series desktop product line and are available immediately in the U.S.

Gateway Essential The Gateway Essential line of desktop PCs is designed to meet the individual needs of the client looking for a full-featured multimedia system with traditional Gateway value, while maximizing those features that are the most important to the client's needs: processor speed, RAM amount, and hard drive size. It includes the Gateway Essential 400c, including an Intel Celeron 400MHz processor, 64MB SDRAM, 8.4GB UATA hard drive, integrated audio and 8MB video, EV700 17" (15.9" viewable) monitor, 13x/32x CD-ROM drive, 2-piece speaker system, data/fax modem, Microsoft Windows 98 and Corel Word Perfect Suite 8, and one year2 of Internet access through gateway.net for $1299.

Gateway Select Designed to provide clients with alternatives and the power of choice, Gateway Select systems offer a perfect balance of feature set and price. This product line includes the Gateway Select 366, which features an AMDTM K6-2 366MHz processor, 32MB SDRAM, 4.3 GB UATA hard drive, integrated audio and 8MB video, EV500 15" (13.9" viewable) monitor, 13x/32x CD-ROM drive, 2-piece speaker system, data/fax modem, Microsoft Windows 98 and Corel Word Perfect Suite 8 for $899.
