Storage: Iomega Expands Product Line With New Internal ATAPI ZIP 250MB Drive - Product Announcement

Iomega Corporation Monday announced the internal ATAPI Zip 250MB drive, the first internal drive for its Zip 250MB platform, to be sold at retail.

The internal ATAPI Zip 250MB drive is the lowest priced Zip 250MB drive and is currently available in the U.S. and is expected to be available worldwide in the second quarter of this year through major distributors and resellers.

The high capacity Zip 250 drives and disks are the answer for burgeoning file-size demands that are being driven by the exponential growth of computer applications, the emergence of audio and video files and the proliferation of Web downloads. The new internal ATAPI Zip 250 drive provides high performance with simple, affordable system integration and compatibility. The drive fits into a conventional PC drive bay, connects to an internal power supply and includes a full suite of value-added software applications.

The internal ATAPI Zip 250 drive includes one Zip 250MB disk, IomegaWare software and Norton Zip Rescue software, the easiest way to rescue your PC when it does not start properly. Also included is RecordIt software, the coolest way to record and play back voice and audio on a computer from a Zip disk or hard drive.

The new Zip 250MB drive is an extension to Iomega's popular line of Zip 100MB drives and disks. The Zip 250 drive uses new Zip 250 disks, but also reads and writes to Zip 100MB disks.
