Emulex Corp., a leader in fibre channel products and technology, Tuesday announced an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement to provide its Emulex LightPulse Host Bus Adapters to Hitachi Data Systems, a leading provider of business solutions for the world's most IT-intensive corporations.
The Emulex host bus adapter is a key component of Hitachi Data Systems' high-end SAN offering, the Freedom SAN Solution, which was announced Tuesday. The Hitachi Data Systems Freedom SAN Solution is designed to enable companies to pool storage devices in a central location, utilize a common Automated Tape Library (ATL) to back up multiple server locations, and offload data management traffic from the LAN.
