Edge: Work-Group Computing Report, Nov 8, 1999

Iomega Corporation, a leader in smart, portable storage solutions, Monday announced that it is offering Adobe ActiveShare software for free download at www.Iomega.com.

ActiveShare, a new consumer digital imaging product from Adobe Systems Incorporated, contains a "Back-up to Zip" feature, and hard-wired integration with the Iomega storage solutions to provide customers with a one-click process for archiving and storing those photos to Zip, Jaz and Clik! disks. Iomega Zip, Jaz and Clik! disks provide a mobile solution for ActiveShare customers allowing them to store, backup and view their photos on Iomega disks.

"Reliable storage and the ability to share information are critical for customers who use digital photos, and for that reason, we selected Iomega solutions as the backup and archiving tools for ActiveShare," said Kyle Mashima, vice president of product marketing, consumer and on-line solutions, Adobe Systems Incorporated. "Together, ActiveShare and Iomega solutions provide an effective and exciting way to store and share photos."

Adobe ActiveShare software does away with the cumbersome aspects of importing digital photos to the computer and provides consumers with a one-click process from a digital camera, scanner or other source. It also provides an easy way for users to import digital photos to their computer, organize, enhance and share them in print or online.

ActiveShare is also available as a free download from Adobe at www.ActiveShare.com. Adobe ActiveShare for Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT 4.0 and ActiveShare.com combine to provide even the most novice user with a start-to-finish software and Web sharing solution.

"Digital imaging is one of the fastest growing PC market segments," said Germaine Ward, vice president, software solutions, Iomega Corporation. "ActiveShare removes the obstacles of managing all of these digital photos. Consumers can easily capture, edit, organize and store digital photographs, and then share them. Iomega is excited to be a part of Adobe's efforts."
