At .80-inches thin and weighing only 3.4-pounds, the Portege 3440CT offers the perfect balance of ultraportability and performance with nearly nine hours of battery life (using the optional high capacity battery slice) and a generous 11.3-inch poly-silicon TFT display.

The Portege 3440CT is the ideal companion for highly-mobile users such as entrepreneurs, executives and sales professionals who require a lightweight device for performing general office applications, conducting presentations, sending and receiving email, surfing the Internet and reviewing documents.

The Portege 3440CT's sleek magnesium casing provides durability in a stylish design. The Portege 3440CT is a powerful, high performance companion device equipped with an Intel Mobile Pentium III 500MHz processor, 6 billion byte hard drive, 64MB of PC100 SDRAM system memory (expandable to 192MB), blazing S3 Savage IX graphics controller with 8MB of integrated video memory. Designed with a unique and innovative cooling system, the Portege 3440CT uses Toshiba's new Super Cooling technology which efficiently dissipates heat from the ultra-thin, ultra-light notebook. The Portege 3440CT pushes the limits of portable design capable of keeping users productive for an entire business day with nine hours of battery life using the optional high capacity battery slice.
Cutting-Edge Multimedia and Expansion Capability The Portege 3440CT portable computer offers frequent travelers several expansion and storage solutions to meet their specific needs. The system includes two Type II or one Type III PC Card slots, integrated V.90/K56flex modem, SVGA output, Fast IR, microphone/headphone ports and one USB port for easy connection to peripherals, monitors and printers. The Portege 3440CT also comes standard with a LAN Port Replicator which features Intel 10/100 Ethernet network connectivity, USB, SVGA, AC power, serial, parallel, shared PS/2 and audio out ports.
Perfect for on-the-go presentations, the Portege 3440CT features an advanced 11.3-inch poly-silicon TFT active matrix display with 1024x768 resolution. Toshiba's poly-silicon TFT displays are more durable, brighter and use less power than standard TFT displays.
For enhanced multimedia presentations, software installation and storage needs, the optional lightweight and compact Multimedia Port Replicator offers one SelectBay modular bay for use with Toshiba slimline DVD-ROM, second hard disk, Zip and LS120 SelectBay drives. It also includes Intel 10/100 Ethernet network connectivity, Type II CardBus PC Card slot, USB and a full array of ports for expansion and networking requirements.
