Cadence Updates Orcad Family of Products Enhancing PCB Engineers' Productivity; 9.2 Improves Stability And Provides Windows 2000 Readiness - Product Announcement

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, Thursday announced the availability of Release 9.2, an update to its popular Orcad family of printed circuit board (PCB) electronic design automation (EDA) tools. The 9.2 software enhancements provide feature improvements and Windows 2000 readiness to: PSpice analog/mixed-signal simulator; Orcad Capture schematic editor; Capture CIS (component information system); and Orcad Layout PCB design system. The product will be offered on a single CD and will provide stability improvements to the design of digital and analog/mixed-signal systems on PC boards, including FPGAs, CPLDs, and analog/mixed-signal ASICs. Orcad tools are used to design systems for computer, instrumentation, power supply, electro-medical, military/aerospace, and communication applications.

Input from Orcad product users, in key segments of the electronics design industry, provided qualitative data for improvements in this newest release of the Orcad family of products. "Cadence is responsive to the massive Orcad user base of loyal customers. Our users will appreciate the fact that we have added more power to their Orcad family of products, as well as making them fully Windows 2000 ready.
