Dell Computer Corporation, the world's leading direct computer systems company, Tuesday cut U.S. prices on select configurations of Dell Precision WorkStations by up to 17 percent.

"Falling component costs allow customers to purchase Dell Precision WorkStations at extremely attractive price/performance points."

Effective Tuesday, a Dell Precision WorkStation 210 with a Pentium III processor at 650 MHz, 64 MB of SDRAM, 6.4 GB(b) IDE hard disk drive, 20/48X CD-ROM drive, Windows NT and a Diamond Viper 770D graphics card (without monitor) is priced at $1,740, a 17.1 percent reduction. Dell also cut prices on the mid-range Dell Precision WorkStation 410 by up to 15.5 percent. Prices for Dell Precision WorkStations begin at $1,423(c).
