National Semiconductor Promotes Roland Andersson to Top Marketing and Sales Post - Company Operations

National Semiconductor Corporation has promoted Roland Andersson to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Sales, based in the company's headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

Andersson previously was Regional Vice President for Europe, based in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany, a position he held since March 1997.

"Roland Andersson brings a depth of experience in international business that will further strengthen our worldwide marketing and sales effort," said Brian L. Halla, president and CEO of National Semiconductor. "This is a vital move toward continuing to grow market share in our robust analog business and extend our leadership in the emerging market for information appliances," he added.

Andersson joined National in 1983 and served in a number of sales and marketing positions in Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden. Andersson began his career in 1974 and was associated with Siemens and General Instruments in Scandinavia and with Beckman Instruments in Belgium before joining National Semiconductor. He has an electronic engineering degree and a certificate in business administration.
