Xircom, Inc. (Nasdaq:XIRC), the leading provider of mobile information access solutions, Tuesday announced continued market share gains which cement its leadership position in all PC Card market segments.
Fourth quarter data from industry research firm Cahners In-Stat Group confirms that Xircom leads the market with a 36% market share in total PC Card connections, which includes both Ethernet and modem technologies, while its nearest competitor's share declined seven points quarter over quarter.
Xircom also retained its number one position in the two fastest growing PC Card market segments, Fast Ethernet connections and combination Modem LAN PC Cards, with 47% and 66% market share respectively, widening the gap with its nearest competitor in each segment by six points quarter over quarter.

In addition, Xircom leads the market for all Ethernet (10Mbps and 100Mbps) PC Card connections with a 39% share and the market for all PC Card modem connections with a 30% share.
