Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM), a global leader in data management solutions, Monday announced shipment of an internal 8x4x32x ZipCD ATAPI CD-RW drive. The new drive is compatible with Windows 95/98/2000 and NT 4.0.
Iomega's ZipCD CD-RW drive is a powerful data management tool that can be used for countless applications, including the creation of personal digital photo albums, family history archives and customized audio CDs.
Iomega's new internal 8x4x32x ZipCD ATAPI drive offers higher transfer rates than Iomega's previous internal 4x4x24x ZipCD drive and ships with Adaptec Easy CD Creator and Adaptec DirectCD software. The drive also fits inside a desktop computer's 5.25" drive bay, which saves a user valuable desk space.

The 8x4x32x ATAPI ZipCD drive is Iomega's fourth addition to its ZipCD product line. Iomega entered the realm of optical technology in August 1999 with the introduction of the PC-compatible internal 4x4x24x ZipCD ATAPI drive. In December 1999, Iomega continued its push into the optical market with the successful introduction of its uniquely-designed PC-compatible external ZipCD USB drive. Iomega added Macintosh software drivers and support for this drive in March 2000.
The internal 8x4x32x ZipCD ATAPI drive is available at an estimated street price of $229.95 (U.S.), and is available directly from Iomega at www.iomegadirect.com or through major distributors and resellers.
