Card offers PCI-based audio acceleration

Based on the Maestro-2E audio signal processor, the SonicStorm Pro, from VideoLogic, is an audio card that combines the very latest in PCI audio acceleration for DirectSound and DirectSound3D, simultaneous 64- channel audio stream capabilities and a 64-voice hardware accelerated MIDI wave table synthesiser.

This card fully implements, within hardware, Central Research Laboratories' Sensaura technique for head-response transfer functions 3D positional sound, and includes 2Mb and 4Mb wave tables as well as Yamaha XG soft synthesiser and Yamaha XG Studio.

Various shareware software applications are included for recording, editing and compressing music from CD or vinyl, and the card is capable of handling multiple streams of high quality audio for improved quality and realism.

SonicStorm Pro includes an S/P-DIF output for stereo digital recording to DAT or miniDisc and AC-3 5.1 output for connection to a six-channel surround sound decoder.

Each card has driver support for Windows 95/98, Direct X and Windows NT, and the complete SonicStorm pro bundle includes a card, drivers and audio applications.
