Custom boxes/cases have curved profiles

Electronics Times, Sept 6, 1999

Bafbox has announced the availability of curved profiles for its custom designed range of boxes and cases.

Using an arrangement of pressure rollers, Bafbox produces the profiles in order to give aesthetically pleasing designs which enable customers to further enhance the look of their products.

The company uses cad/cam techniques to fabricate the en-closures from plastic sheet. Cut groove and folding are used to produce a variety of shapes for housing anything from intercom loud speakers to control systems.

Bafbox works closely with customers and designers at every stage of product development to provide an enclosure with exactly the right characteristics. Each project is thoroughly planned and properly controlled through the internationally recognised ISO 9000 quality system.

The service supplied is highly competitive for prototypes and small production runs. Each case comes as part of a complete solution which includes spray painting, silk screen printing and shielding for EMI and RFI.

Flexibility is another big advantage for customers using the Bafbox service. For example, customers can add to or change designs without incurring massive tooling charges.

Computer equipment manufacturers can also add extra sockets or recesses when product designs are changed, and these changes can be accomplished at minimal cost.
