Tv Choice

Electronics Times, August 21, 2000

Big-name programmes in the BBC's autumn schedule - such as The Royle Family (pictured) - will get a further boost following a deal between the broadcaster and hard disk recorder specialist TiVo.

TiVo, which launches its set-top box in the UK this autumn, is to give BBC programmes "prominent placement" as part of the on-screen guide for its Personal TV Service. Personal TV will allow users to choose their own or themed programming for download and storage so they can watch it when they want.

BSkyB is already co-operating with TiVo on its UK launch for its analogue channels.
